Located in St. Marys, Pennsylvania—the Powder Metallurgy Capital of the World—Contact Technologies Inc. (CTI) has built its reputation on decades of innovation and manufacturing excellence in the electrical contact industry.

Our heritage traces back to the Stackpole Carbon Company, an industry pioneer in the development and manufacturing of arcing and sliding electrical contacts. In 1989, CTI was established through a senior management buyout of Stackpole’s electrical contact business, preserving its engineering expertise while building a company focused on customer service, quality, and innovation.

In 2015, CTI became part of the Merit Capital family of companies, joining Advantage Sintered Metals (ASM) in Battle Creek, Michigan, and Advantage Metal Products (AMP) in Qingdao, China. This strategic partnership expanded our global manufacturing capabilities while allowing CTI to maintain the technical expertise and responsiveness our customers have relied on for decades.

Today, CTI is recognized as a leading manufacturer of refractory metal electrical contacts, sliding contacts, precision motor brushes, and complex contact assemblies. We combine decades of engineering experience with advanced manufacturing technologies to deliver high-performance solutions for customers across the power transmission, industrial, transportation, aerospace, and other demanding electrical markets worldwide.
