Manufacturing & Technical Capabilities
From raw powder blending to high-precision finishing, CTI maintains end-to-end control over the manufacturing process to ensure consistent metallurgical integrity.
Core Manufacturing: Press, sinter, infiltrate (PSI)/Press, sinter, repress (PSR)
Our facility is equipped for the complete production of powdered metal contacts.
- In-House Blending: Custom mixing of silver, copper, and refractory powders to meet precise customer specifications.
- PSI/PSR: Utilizing advanced powder metallurgy to create high-density components with superior mechanical and electrical properties.
Surface Preparation & Finishing
We provide specialized surface treatments to ensure our contacts are ready for seamless integration into your assemblies.
- Silver Enrichment: For graphite-based contacts, we strategically remove surface graphite to leave a high-conductivity silver layer, ensuring a superior bond during soldering.
- Chemical Etching: Creates a high-conductivity surface optimized for soldering and brazing requirements.
- Solder Application: We offer flexible delivery—contacts can be shipped pre-soldered or prepared for your own in-house soldering process.
- Tumbling: Deburring and surface conditioning to ensure part uniformity and eliminate mechanical interference.
CNC Machining
Highly capable multi-axis machines that turn raw sintered products into finished parts.
CTI strives to accomplish design requirements with “molded-to-size” configuration. When this is not possible, CTI has a full line of CNC and conventional machining equipment to satisfy the most demanding contact designs in the most efficient manner possible.
Advanced Brazing Solutions
CTI offers multiple brazing methods to match the thermal and mechanical requirements of your sub-assemblies.
- Resistance Brazing: Provides localized heat, which is essential for maintaining the hardness and temper of the surrounding components.
- Induction Brazing: High-precision, localized heating for consistent, high-volume production.
- Furnace Brazing: Ideal for bus bars and high volume.
- Specialty Methods: Ultrasonic and Friction brazing available upon request.
